 | Michigan is very cold in the latter days of January. In addition, pistachio ice cream is not nearly as popular in the Great Lakes region as it is on the East Coast. These are both facts that Tyler learned on January 21st, 2013. He also learned that it is surprisingly harder to obtain a pink plastic rose, hot glue sticks, pink candles, a suitable plate, and appropriate glass vessel at 10:00PM than you would imagine.
After employing both Erin and Adam Heitzenrater (not to mention Erin’s mother) in his scheming, Tyler “accidentally” hinted at the fact that he would be proposing to Jenn at Apple Mountain, the very place where Erin and Adam had been married just over a year earlier. This plan, while seemingly brilliant, did come at the cost of Jenn not speaking to Tyler for an entire day while they were in Michigan (and rightfully so, of course.) However, later the next night, unbeknownst to Jenn, text messages were flying back and forth between the co-conspirators. A request for ice cream was made by Eric, and naturally the boys volunteered to run out for ice cream. Under this guise, Tyler and Adam gathered supplies to craft a replica of the enchanted rose from “Beauty and the Beast”. Nearly an hour and a half (and several inquisitive phone calls) later, the boys returned home. Tyler quickly began work in the bathroom to construct his prop, while Erin, Adam, and Erin’s mother distracted Jenn, who simply believed Tyler was preparing her a bowl of ice cream. Shortly thereafter, Adam asked Jenn accompany him into the foyer, where Tyler was waiting with two lit pink candles, an enchanted rose, and a ring. Several angry and suspicious accusations were made by the person left out of the conspiracy, but eventually, Tyler asked her to be his Belle, and she uttered only one word in response.
“Absolutely.” |
