While the proposal is a good story, the lead-up to the proposal is also noteworthy. Originally Phil and Jenn were going to dine at the Be Our Guest restaurant in December 2013. Due to unforseen circumstances, they had to cancel their reservation. However, that night Phil made new reservations for May 10th, 2014, five days after their two-year anniversary. Phil knew that night he would be proposing in May. 

Once May 10th had arrived, Phil and Jenn were dining at Be Our Guest. During dinner Jenn excused herself to use the ladies room. Seeing an opportunity, Phil asked the waitress about proposing to Jenn (interestingly enough he was the second person that day to propose there!). She suggested proposing in the Beast's study where they could have some privacy. After conferring with the photographer Phil was all set. Once dinner had ended, Phil and Jenn made their way to the Beast's study where he was patiently waiting. As the servers blocked the entrance and the Beast stepped aside, Phil got down on one knee and asked Jenn to marry him.
